Old Sacramento

So yesterday we went with Matt's sis and her hubby to Old Sac for the afternoon! It was a lot of fun! Here are some pics!

almost 2 months old!

I can't believe how fast our lil man is growing!!!! Here are some pics from the last few weeks! This one is from his baby shower! Yep we had a baby shower weekend! O got a lot of great stuff!!!

He is sleeping great at night. He gets up about 2 to 3 times to eat but is a great sleeper!

Owen has also found his smile! Matt and I say we found his smile button! He will squeal with happiness when Matt does something silly. I just can't believe how big he is getting! I think he's over 8 lbs now... we go see the dr. in a few weeks for his 2 month apt and shots so we will know more then.

Almost a Month Old!!!

WOW now time is going by SOOO FAST!!! I can't believe O is already 3weeks and a few days old! He is doing awesome! He has already made his first trip to Modesto and went out to a lovely dinner! He also went with Mommy to a baby shower for a friend! O is starting to love baths but still hates having his diaper changed! He sleeps pretty good! 3 to 4 sometime 5 hour stretches! He's a growing boy! So here are some photos of him over the past few weeks!

Baby Owen is a week and one day old today!!! Things are going great! He is such a good baby. His daily routine is to eat, poop, sleep and the repeat! He sleeps great during the night. Only waking up maybe two times to eat. Other then that he likes to cuddle with mommy! Owen got his first bath yesterday. We got it on video and he didn't really like it . He likes the part afterwords where he's all wrapped up! That is one thing we have learned for sure is that he'd rather be swaddled up then not. He makes the cutest faces and Matt and I just laugh sometimes at how cute he his! Breastfeeding is going good. Still a work in progresses!

Owen Paul Silva has Arrived!

He has arrived! Owen Paul decided to grace us with his presence on Thursday Feb. 5th at 5:25am. He weighed 6lbs 5oz and 19inches long. His apgar was 9/9!

So this is the story, Thurs. morning around 12:20 I finally went to bed, woke up an hour later to use the bathroom and as soon as I stood up I felt a little wet (could have been a weak bladder...) So go to the bathroom and everything is fine till I get up and more fluid comes out... Yep, my water broke! Woohoo! I was praying for a sign that I was in real labor and I got it! So at 1:35 the pains began. I woke Matt up and he got the car ready while I got my last min. stuff together. We left for the hospital at 2 and checked in at 2:30, on the way there my contractions were every 2 to 3 min. and painful. So once we got checked in to the triage room the dr. checked me and I was 4cm. So I then asked for an Epi, I was in pain! In the next 2 hours I was moved to the labor and delivery room and the pain was increasing, still no epi yet tho till finally I couldn't take the pain anymore, I asked the nurse how much longer and she said she didn't know but would check me to see where I was, and guess what... after two hours I was 9 1/2 cm with a little lip left. The nurse was shocked and got another nurse to come in and double check, yep it was time to push. So after 4, yes only 4 hours of labor and 30 min. of pushing (by they way... it was too late for any meds so I went all natural) Owen arrived!

He cried a little bit. Oh and Matt got to help deliver! It was awesome! After he was out they put him on me and it was like nothing else I have ever experienced! We are home now and enjoying every min. Our first night home was better then we thought! We actually slept! Breastfeeding is getting much better! Owen's first dr.s appointment is in the morning so I should get going and try to get some rest! I attached a few pics but if you want to see all the pics from the hospital just click on this link:

38 week Dr. Apt.

Hello! So today I had my 38 week appointment! Yep... I've made it to 38 weeks! Everything looked good, my BP was perfect, no protein in my urine and I'm still dilated to a 2 almost 3. Dr. Vallee said that Owen looks likes 7lbs so we will see! During the appointment Dr. Vallee also stripped my membranes (for those that don't know its when the Dr. uses his fingers to detach the bag of waters from the cervix/uterus. ) It kind of hurts, feels like a contraction when you have it done. He said that if that works something should happen in the following 24 to 48 hours. So far I feel like I've been kicked really hard down there and have had contractions, not painful ones but very uncomfortable. SO now i'm just waiting for something to really kick in so I know for sure that it's it or not. I'm doing much better at being patient but I feel like a whale! lol.
Pray something happens!!!!!!!!!
Oh, and incase you didn't notice, yes we told our family the name we picked out! Everyone was together for Matt's bday/superbowl party and we decided to tell everyone! So we are very excited to meet Owen Paul Silva!

Embarassing thing I have eaten: a jar of pickles at once (it was around 20 weeks) now I can't even think about eating a pickle... ICK!!!!

Silly thing I got angry over: being stuck in Sacramento and not being able to travel for the holidays. It was for a good reason tho.

A place I don't fit anymore: Booths and Public Restroom Stalls ( I use the big ones now! lol)

Silly thing that made me cry: Leaving the Dr. Office this last appointment after she said I hadn't dilated anymore... I was sure I had!!!

Thing that made me laugh uncontrollably: New Years Eve playing Catch Phrase with the Silva's, someone said something and I lost it! I was laughing so hard I thought I was going to laugh this kid out of me!

Most annoying side effect of being knocked up: Not being able to sleep on my stomach or cuddle up in a fetal position (that's comfy for me), with a big belly it's not possible.

Thing about motherhood that's starting to scare me: Not knowing what to do or drawing a blank when a situation comes up.
